I know, I'm easily amused.I still chuckle a little every time I'm out on Pier 39 or at the East Basin.
Feels like I ought to be calling out "Up periscope!"

- I live on the edge of the Columbia River, a few miles upstream from the Pacific. I miss my hometown of Portland, but at the same time, I love this little community, and especially my space within it. I'm a native Oregonian brought up in the shadow of the likes of Wayne Morse, Tom McCall and Mark Hatfield... people who led with character and conviction, not by giving themselves a brand. A "serious amateur" photographer for more than 30 years, I'm seldom found without at least one camera within reach.
